Weekend Update

I feel very behind on blogging so maybe this can catch you up a bit.  Through our Villa Church of Christ connections, we were put in touch with the principal of the Villa Primary School, Mrs. Felix and we were able to attend General Assembly last Friday.  Will spoke for a few minutes and got them engaged and then told them a Bible story.  We then got to visit with a Kindergarten class until Walker had had enough!  The classroom was super cute and well stocked and the teacher seemed to teach in such a fun way that the kids were all paying such good attention.  She even let Callan and Lizzie in on the fun.  We ended up back at the church building Saturday afternoon to hang out with a couple of kids.  Church Sunday and then Monday and Tuesday afternoon we spent back at the building with kids.
On Tuesday we went back to Villa Primary after school and talked to several kids that remembered us from Friday.  Y'all, Walker is a celebrity here.  The girls are too, but most of the Antiguan kids remembered Walker's name so they all wanted to see him.  Several came to the van to see him and he entertained them with waving and sweet baby Walker noises!
We invited several of the kids back to the building yesterday and had several show up.  We did some sidewalk chalk and read a bible story.  There is a family that lives behind the church building that has 6 kids.  Many of our CrossPoint family knows them and has interacted with several of the kids but we were able to get 4 of the 6 there yesterday which we were pretty excited about.  One of the boys who is special to several back home hasn't had anything to do with us since we've been here but we felt like yesterday was a breakthrough for him.  I'm hoping we can get him to come around some more because we would love to talk to him more.  Some of the church kids hinted that he might be in a gang (at the age of 12) so we would love to show him a different way of life that would be much more fulfilling.  Pray about that!  We are hoping to involve some of the church kids with us in the afternoons when they would be willing.  Some of these kids we are reaching out to may never come to "church" so the times we are hanging out at the church building we need to get them around some of the church people.  This church is such a close knit family and any kid would be privileged to be a part of it.  We know God can make that happen!  Will even talked to one of the kid's mom yesterday and he invited her to church and she promised she would come sometime while we are here.  Pray about that too!  Here are a few pics.

Bless my sweet child's heart.  He needs to eat but it makes me sick paying $2.57 US for a container of baby food and Puffs are $4.42 each although we didn't get any.  That price is double what it is in the States.

Something you don't see everyday.  A horse and his buddy were walking down the street and then 2 little boys started chasing them.  Pretty sure the horses won.

These are a few of the houses we saw right behind the soccer field.

Kadeish and Walker jumping rope-Walker held it and Kadeish spun it and starting jumping.  It was so cute!

Where do you go when you want an Antiguan football (soccer) jersey?  The Cool & Smooth of course and you leave feeling a little more cool & smooth.

Some of the kids visiting in the van for a minute after school.  I'm going to attempt to write their names.  I'm almost 100% sure they aren't spelled like this but I am writing them so that I can remember how to pronounce them.  Jenna, Janarey, Nayshaun, E Roy and Nalian

After school fun: a little sidewalk church and a Bible story.
