We received some more gifts of food from some of the sweet families at church. Today we got some mangos and a sour sop (cousin to the sweet sop or sugar apple) and some more passionfruit drink, fruit punch, some lasagna and some of Rosie's famous pumpkin fritters. I think I could live on fritters, sugar apples and punch alone! We love you Villa! (not just because you bring us food but that doesn't hurt)
Sour sop (haven't tried it yet)
Tuesday night Will and some of the guys from church went to the Antigua/Grenada football game (or soccer for us). They had a great time and it was good for Will to get to know the guys a little better. It didn't hurt that Antigua won 5-1. Go Benna Boys!

Unfortunately Walker got another fever this week. I'm telling you this kid is well loved down here and all of us are guilty of touching him too much and sharing our germs. I had to miss bible study again this week to take care of him but he is better now. We are trying to wipe his hands a lot more often now since they go straight to his mouth.
We had several great days with the kids playing some new games and getting to know some new faces. Their favorite game by far is Daddy May I! We are looking forward to spending more time with the kids this week. Makhalia and Ariel came to church with us this morning and that was a great treat for us!

Saturday was another exciting airport day. We picked up Mimi, (Melodie's mom, Sheila). We didn't have any paper to make a sign so we typed out her name on the iPad so she could feel special!
Y'all we feel so loved! The fact that this lady would fly so far by herself to come see us speaks volumes. It was such a fun reunion! We usually see her every few weeks even though we live about an hour away so this was a long time for us to be apart.
Mimi's excited to see us face!
And much to our delight, she brought gifts!! aka a whole suitcase of just food!!!
The girls and their goodies from Mimi
She spoils us! Thank also to my sister-in-law, Shannon, for using her amazing couponing skills to score us some good deals on some of our favorites. Lizzie was most excited about the vanilla wafers and Walker liked the swimmy diapers.
Mimi is here for a week so we are excited to show her around and let her work alongside us.
Here are a few more pictures from the week

General Assembly at Villa Primary-such a fun experience for us and our kids. We love hearing them recite scriptures and sing songs about Jesus. They are doing a great job of showing these kids what is important!
Saturday was a busy day at the building with lots of friends
Laundry exists in Antigua too-our dryer just looks different than in Alabama
Will's morning consists of Lyons coffee in our John Oubre mug
3 2 1...Go!!!

ReplyDeleteWalker sure is looking like his daddy more and more. So thankful that people there are loving on you by gifting you food, and that your mom got to come, Melodie.
